Yoybuy Spreadsheet Categories

Start with what the item is supposed to do. The right category tells you which photos, measurements and shipping questions matter.

Why it works

Categories make comparison easier

A watch and a hoodie can both have clear photos, but the useful photos are different. Look for insole length on shoes, garment measurements on clothing, interior views on bags and exact dimensions on accessories.

What to look for

Check the details that matter for each product

You do not need every possible photo or measurement. Begin with the one detail most likely to change your mind.

Where to begin

Choose the category with the clearest use

If you already know the product type, begin there. If you do not, describe the need first: a warm outer layer, a measured everyday bag, or shoes for a particular fit.

That description becomes your comparison standard. It helps you reject rows that are eye-catching but irrelevant to the actual job.

Common detours

Mistakes that make a category search worse

Mixing unrelated rows

A low-priced shirt does not make a jacket expensive. Compare rows that solve the same problem.

Using one photo standard

Wide photos may help with garment shape but reveal little about a clasp, seam or small finish.

Ignoring packed size

A compact product can arrive with bulky packaging. Ask what the weight or dimensions include.

Trusting category labels

Open the destination and confirm that the listing actually matches the row and category.

Letting price lead

Compare the price only after you know what the row includes and whether the products are truly similar.

Saving too broadly

Keep a small working set. A long “maybe” list recreates the problem the spreadsheet was meant to solve.

A six-question category check

Use this quick pass before opening another tab.

  • Does the row belong in the category it claims?
  • Do I know which photo detail matters most?
  • Do I need measurements or fit notes?
  • Am I comparing it with similar rows?
  • Could packed weight change the decision?
  • Can I name the question the link should answer?
A quick comparison

Move from a broad category to a few useful options

  1. State the use, such as everyday carry or a warm outer layer.
  2. Name one required measurement or functional detail.
  3. Open no more than five rows from the same category.
  4. Remove any row whose destination or variant does not match.
  5. Compare the remaining rows using the same details.

Now check the individual row.
